General Information

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a U.S. National Park located on the big island of Hawaii on the Hilo side of the island. The National Park has 2 active volcanoes: Kilauea and Mauna Loa. It also became a World Heritage Site in 1987. The park covers 323,431 acres of land and provides unique hiking and camping opportunities. Within the park is a Visitor Center, a Volcano Art Center, and the Thomas A. Jaggar Museum which is a few miles west of Crater Rim Drive and gives tourists a close view of the Kilauea's active vent.
